Failure
The project "Failure" began following a conversation with a friend. We've known each other since secondary school, and there's a little group of four of us who are still in touch. We have an extremely diverse range of career paths - from biomedical engineering to fine art - and we're all fortunately doing well in our respective fields at the moment. As one of these friends pointed out, the two women are not celebratory about our achievements, both feeling at times like imposters. Somehow a mistake. The men, on the other hand, seem extremely (and rightly so) proud of their success. So Failure began, as an experiment in success and failure cohabiting. There is success in acrylic studies of skin, and peeking through these watery colours, are drawings I failed.
