Delphi Campbell Ruskin MFA Degree Show presentation. it is a red and pink room, with the walls and ceiling completely covered in secondhand fabric. it is patchworked together with staples, bulging and bulbous, forming soft padded tumors. there are other soft sculptures in the space. sacks of offcuts, scraps and leftovers that I have been gathering for years. there is a white chair made of reclaimed wedding dresses, which is puffy, covered in frills and beads and tulle. there is a brown penis table sculpture next to it, with a soft sculpture penis and ballsack dangling from the table. Sat on the table is a fringed lamp, but the fringe is made of human hair. human hair is embedded into the lampshade as well, which is made of latex and sewn together in rough black stitches. it has a red light emitting from it, and there is a second red lightbulb hanging from above. a third lamp, is dangled over a red washing line that extends from one corner to another. it is connected to an extension cable, which droops before extending upwards to the washing line, dangling back down. the lamp base is an off-center womb, with thin fallopian tubes and ovaries attached. the womb is soft sculpture. the lamp has another red lightbulb. the whole art installation is filled with this red light. there is a pink bookcase, hanging on the wall suspended near the ceiling, stuffed with pink soft objects, which are sliding out. the bottom shelf is empty, and a pink lump lies on the floor beneath it. everything in the art sculptures and installation is sustainbly sourced, second hand found or reclaimed, except for the lightbulbs and the staples.
